Spears impersonator
Okay, I used to work at a gay club as a bartender, so I consider myself a bit of a drag queen/female impersonator expert, but holy crap. Saw this guy Derrick Barry on America's Got Talent. Worth watching just for David Hasselhoff's reaction.
(and yes, you're allowed to make fun of me for submitting a topic that involves both Britney Spears AND David Hasselhoff) - whatever.
Check out Derrick's myspace page to see what he looks like out of costume. He's not a bad looking dude.

You probably already know about these weird "immortal" hydrozoans, but I just read about them and thought it was awesome (in the fascinated and horrified all at once sense of the word). I'm getting a real kick out of trying to process the long term evolutionary implications.

Just a stunt, or actually a good idea under the circumstances?

Fucktard of the week: The Creationist Think Tank "The Discovery Institute"
A Google search on the Discovery Institute comes up with this: "Discovery Institute is a nonpartisan public policy think tank conducting research on technology, science and culture, economics and foreign affairs."
Creationism in a lab coat. Fuck them.

HUGE news:
US Supreme Court in D.C. overturns a 70+ year precedent that the 2nd Amendment allows for an
individual, not a collective, right to bear arms.
The ripple effect this will have is more like a tidal wave, because now every city with a concealed weapon and/or handgun ban (Chicago, DC, Atalanta, San Francisco, etc) can now expect very strong challenges to their local laws.
Here's what Chicago's Mayor Daley had to say.
Here's a larger outlook from Reuters
McCain's response to the ruling
